Windows 8 users won’t have to wait much longer for VLC. VLC Developer VideoLAN announced on Twitter today that it would be releasing the app on the Windows Store Monday, March 10.

At the beginning of the year, VideoLAN released screenshots of VLC for Windows 8. It promised to submit the app “soon” and two months later, it’s almost here.
VLC has been available on Windows 8 but only in desktop mode. This means Windows RT tablet users didn’t have access to the media player. With VLC for Windows 8 right around the corner, Windows RT users can finally play any media format they want.
